Successes

  • More than 30 Aldermanic Candidates signed CAA's Pledge in support of a horse carriage ban and the majority of Chicago's Aldermen currently support a ban.

  • Because of CAA's undercover work documenting Chicago's horse carriage operators' routine abuse of carriage horses and the law, they were fined more than $20,000 in 2017 and were taken to court by the City of Chicago in the summer of 2018. They continue to rack up violations and fines to this day.

  • Because of CAA's outspoken advocates, the Soho House Chicago hotel cancelled their plans to exhibit baby tiger cubs at a Halloween party in 2016.

  • CAA helped end the Great Bull Run after three members testified in front of the Stickney Illinois Board of Trustees in May 2015 and urged them to cancel the inhumane event. The Great Bull Run's website cannot be reached and their last Facebook and Twitter posts were from April 2015.
